Job Summary Join a dynamic, research‑driven team advancing imaging science at UW‑Madison. This role supports innovative, collaborative research funded by federal and private sponsors in partnership with leading industry collaborators. The incumbent reports to the Grants and Contracts Manager and works closely with the Medical Imaging and Research Support team (MIRS), investigators across Radiology and partnering departments, and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Primary responsibilities include preparing and submitting proposals, developing budgets, coordinating contract negotiations, managing subcontract and consultant agreements, preparing departmental grant activity reports, and supporting accurate billing processes at the Wisconsin Institutes for Medical Research (WIMR) to ensure compliance with sponsor and federal requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities

Prepare and route proposals, award documents, and sponsored project agreements according to established policies and procedures while meeting deadlines.

Review proposal budgets to ensure allowability and accuracy of requested costs per sponsor and campus guidelines.

Assist campus partners in establishing new accounts in the financial accounting system.

Identify funding opportunities and disseminate them to principal investigators.

Required Qualifications

Experience with contractual agreements and/or accounting/financial systems.

Experience with federal and non‑federal payors/sponsors.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a healthcare and/or higher education environment.

At least one year of substantial involvement in research and sponsored programs focusing on pre‑award grant administration, including electronic grant submissions and reporting.

Compensation and Benefits The starting salary is $63,000, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
