Responsibilities
Lead communications for the PHC while working closely with media relations, patient communications, and marketing teams as needed.
Develop strategic communication plans for the primary care service line, payor relations, medical staff services, Emory Healthcare Network (EHN), etc.
Partner with patient communications on provider departure letters, patient recapture letters and other collateral related to primary care services.
Lead annual communication plan and tactics for the Provider Patient Safety Modules – regulatory trainings and influenza vaccine requirement.
Create resources and presentations to support the EHN and primary care service line.
Partner with media relations and marketing on external communications needs for PHC.
Be a strategic communication partner to PHC and EHN executive leaders.
Description
The role is an internal communications manager, an individual contributor who works with the communications team to support business partners across the Emory Healthcare system.
The manager will work with internal functions, including Human Resources, Emory Digital, clinical services and the executive leadership team to develop and implement communication strategies and manage day‑to‑day employee communication needs.
Responsible for integrated communication and promotion of internal communications in support of Emory Digital (IT), HR, executive communications, operations communications support, etc.
Create messages and communications that are detailed, accurate, and concise, tailored to the author, vehicle, and audience on a range of topics from department‑wide messaging to leadership communication, meeting presentations, video scripts, key messages and talking points.
Collaborate with others to develop and implement programs and communication materials for targeted audiences to enhance awareness and utilization of division programs and services.
Create effective promotional materials including articles, brochures, forms, and flyers.
May design, coordinate, and update organizational website and related websites to educate and promote activities and programs.
Lead projects as assigned; may be responsible for or assist in the management and allocation of funds associated with daily operations of communication services.
Maintain records, documents, contacts, and other sources of communication essential to performance of duties.
Serve as an internal communication consultant for programs and services.
Perform related responsibilities as required.
Travel: less than 10% of the time may be required.
Work type: on‑site employee.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing or other related fields.
Five years of experience in the development of internal communication, marketing and informational materials, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements
Knowledge of publishing and other related software.
Understanding of IT/technological terms.
Design skills (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, PowerPoint).
Video planning, creation, scripting, and editing capabilities.
Knowledge of communications tools for internal and external communications (e.g., Salesforce, Wrike, content management systems, SharePoint).
Knowledge of health care and health care technology.
Additional skills include basic graphic design capabilities, familiarity with communication tools and technology, experience managing an editorial calendar, and drafting and managing strategic communication plans.
