Executive Assistant & Event Coordinator at Round the Bend Farm – South Dartmouth, MA.
Position Overview Round the Bend Farm (RTB) is a 115‑acre working farm and educational nonprofit dedicated to restorative community, local food systems and sustainable living. This full‑time role supports the Executive Director and coordinates special events while embracing RTB’s mission of hope, abundance and inclusivity.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Executive Director, including calendar management, correspondence, reporting and project coordination.
Serve as project manager for special projects and events (weddings, retreats, tours, educational workshops, board meetings, VIP visits) – create itineraries, manage spreadsheets, invoices, and day‑of event logistics.
Assist with program and grant writing, appealing, e‑blasts, blogs, social media, and the annual report.
Prepare routine correspondence, presentations, reports, and minutes for bi‑weekly team meetings and other gatherings.
Maintain accurate file‑keeping systems on server and hard copies; keep binders for each RTB parcel.
Conduct accounting tasks such as expense reconciliation, credit‑card reimbursements, and other financial records for the Executive Director.
Participate in ongoing programs – support field‑trip planning, workshop preparation, and farm‑based education initiatives.
Support a collaborative, inclusive workplace through household chores (e.g., watering plants, office cleaning, meal prep) and participation in monthly Open Farm Days (setup, breakdown, event attendance).
Act independently, make deadlines, and provide solutions to everyday problems.
Communicate effectively with the Executive Director and team, including telephone duties when required.
Qualifications
1–2 years of non‑profit or administrative experience, or equivalent self‑learning and motivation.
Commitment to RTB’s mission and to the health of soil, plants, animals and people.
Strong organizational skills, time management, multitasking, problem‑solving and flexible disposition.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to accept direction and work with a diverse group.
Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
Dependability, tidiness, maturity, self‑awareness, and a good sense of humor.
Willingness to contribute to communal living chores and to collaborate on community projects.
Preference for candidates with active interest in environmental and social justice issues related to local and global food systems.
Compensation
Annual salary starting at $45,760 (approximately $22 per hour for 40 hours/week).
Total compensation package estimated $64,000–$70,000 when including benefits and potential housing.
Benefits
403(b) pension plan with 10% employer contribution (fully vested immediately).
Health & dental insurance covering 75% for the first three years, 100% thereafter.
Life insurance $50,000, short‑term and long‑term disability (90‑day waiting period).
