Product Consultant

The Product Consultant supports the strategy, design, implementation, and performance optimization of Southwest Airlines' air products, including branded fare products. This role is responsible for identifying and deploying new air product optimizations and capabilities to enhance Southwest's product portfolio, conducting market research, analyzing product performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth and enhance the Customer experience. The Consultant will provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support the development and execution of product strategies, ensuring alignment with Southwest's overall business objectives. Responsibilities include leading the development and refinement of the long-term strategy, goals, and roadmap for the air product portfolio; identifying emerging trends, competitive threats, and new opportunities; guiding cross-functional teams through product lifecycle activities; shaping the merchandising strategy, pricing approach, and financial performance modeling for key product lines; facilitating alignment between Product Strategy and key stakeholders; influencing without authority, driving consensus on strategic priorities and tradeoffs; guiding sophisticated analytical modeling to understand product performance; proposing innovative tools, dashboards, and reports to proactively monitor and identify performance opportunities; owning key performance indicators for the air product portfolio; structuring and executing against ad hoc performance questions to diagnose performance trends; and performing other job duties as directed by the Employee's Leader. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include advanced understanding of product strategy, product lifecycle management, and customer value creation; advanced knowledge of analytical methods, financial modeling, and product performance management frameworks; advanced understanding of airline or travel industry dynamics and customer behavior drivers; skilled in executive communication and presentation skills; skilled in leading cross-functional decision-making and influencing Senior Leadership; skilled in managing progress of projects; skilled in data analytics and visualization; skilled in SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Excel, PowerPoint and business intelligence tools; ability to translate analysis into strategy; ability to independently structure ambiguous problems; and ability to challenge assumptions, recommend alternatives, and drive alignment across diverse teams. Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in strategy development and execution, product innovation, development and evolution, financial performance and business case concepts, presenting and communicating analysis, data analytics and visualization, and SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Excel, PowerPoint and business intelligence tools. Physical Abilities include ability to perform work duties from a limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time; ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job; and ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job. Other Qualifications include maintaining a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards; being a U.S. citizen or having authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986; being at least 18 years of age; and being able to comply with Company attendance standards. Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $108,700 per year to $120,800 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
