Member Services Representative
The Michigan Milk Producers Association is a dairy farmer owned cooperative and dairy processor. Founded in 1916, the MMPA serves dairy farmers in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin. MMPA maintains a strong presence within the dairy industry with strategic business relationships through a variety of channels like processing shelf-stable, value added dairy products. MMPA has four member owned processing plants in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, including Superior Dairy and the Middlebury Cheese Company. Products made at MMPA's plants include fluid milk, sour cream, cheese, ultra-filtered milk, cottage cheese, ice cream, butter, nonfat dry milk, cream and condensed skim milk. This role is vital in ensuring the marketability of members' milk by providing integrated services and value-added programs, including animal care education, equipment evaluation, and farm operations support. The Member Services Representative partners closely with member farms to facilitate the production of high-quality Grade A milk and is also responsible for identifying and securing new member farms that demonstrate a strong commitment to milk quality, animal welfare, and environmental stewardship. Key Responsibilities: Provide animal care guidelines and conduct on-farm audits to ensure the integrity of the animal care program at each assigned farm to support milk quality and environmental goals Coach members in methods to reduce environmental footprint and drive sustainability efforts Implement equipment evaluation program at member farms to support milk quality and operational efficiency Provide value-added service to members including resolving quality issues, addressing non-compliance, and assisting with implementation of improvements to drive each member farm's success Secure new member farms by educating farmers about the benefits offered by MMPA Maintain positive relationships with haulers and customers through route and hauler audits Encourage participation in educational opportunities for members Recommend products and services to meet each member's unique needs based on thorough knowledge of all MMPA member products and services Manage member records and other related data in a timely manner Frequent travel within assigned territory (approximately > 80% of the time) Education & experience: Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences or related field Agricultural or related experience Ability to work independently Excellent verbal communication and/or interpersonal skills Strong problem solving and consultative skills Proven track record in working with a team to address regional issues Excellent practical learning skills Expected to reside in the assigned territory Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
