Job Description Summary
Wake Forest University Pre‑College Programs is committed to delivering inspiring and impactful educational experiences for high school students that will complement their academic and career discovery. The Marketing Manager will be a creative and driven individual with the ability to lead detailed marketing campaigns for multiple ongoing programs. This individual will lead and execute marketing activities that drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue growth. He/she will oversee all communications, social media platforms, and marketing initiatives, including the creation of content and the analysis of completed campaigns. The candidate will elevate the Wake Forest Pre‑College brand by creating on‑trend social media content that tells the story of each program and play a key role in recruiting and enrolling students by collaborating with program leadership to ensure marketing goals and communications are organized, intentional, effective, and sustainable.
Essential Functions
Strategy and Planning
Collaborate with program leadership to define annual marketing and outreach strategy.
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy and timeline for all programs.
Report outcomes and insights to the leadership team, incorporating lessons learned and future plans.
Web and Content Management
Manage web content and design for all Pre‑College Program websites.
Track website analytics on SiteImprove and attend Wake Forest website management sessions.
Create and analyze annual updates and program reports.
Design and produce marketing materials, both digital and printed, within brand guidelines.
Photograph, edit, and deliver high‑quality photos for marketing initiatives.
Maintain updated archival process of past event photos.
Record content at program activities and events.
Campaign Execution
Plan and execute marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, traditional, and social media.
Design and implement email campaigns, managing recruitment, broadcast, and promotional emails.
Oversee search and paid media to attract new customers.
Ensure program information is current on third‑party platforms.
Utilize CRM systems for customer relationship management.
Analytics and Reporting
Track budgets, spending, and ROI reporting as requested by the Executive Director.
Build and maintain visual reports to track digital ROI and KPIs.
Analyze marketing campaign metrics and trends for continuous improvement.
Provide regular reports on digital communication strategy effectiveness.
Team Management and Development
Recruit, interview, select, train, and supervise the Summer Immersion Program Marketing intern team.
Coordinate marketing project management and facilitate professional development.
Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for marketing team members.
Communication and Outreach
Collaborate with campus communicators for aligned messaging and branding.
Provide consistent and quality communication with students, parents, counselors, and school staff.
Deliver enthusiastic and educational presentations to individuals and groups.
Assist in program operations and support for all Pre‑College Programs.
Comfortable interviewing students, parents, and Wake Forest staff.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of professional marketing experience.
Strong project management skills.
Proficient in graphic design and web software.
Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to create engaging content and utilize social media effectively.
Strong eye for design and branding.
Organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
Demonstrated problem‑solving ability.
Detail‑oriented and team player.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
BA or BS degree required. Open to all majors.
Marketing or communication majors preferred.
Experience in higher education marketing or communications.
Experience in organic and paid social media management and marketing.
Experience using Canva, Stripo, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Illustrator, SiteImprove, and WordPress strongly preferred.
Not camera‑shy!
Master’s degree preferred.
Accountabilities
Responsible for own work only.
Works at least one Saturday per month (September‑May) to capture content for the College LAUNCH for Leadership Program.
Seasonal requirement to live on‑campus in Winston‑Salem, NC to capture content and tell the story of the Summer Immersion Program and oversee marketing seasonal staff. Provides programming support for the Summer Immersion Program throughout June and July.
Flexible Work Eligibility
Some work is performed on‑site and some from a flexible work location; the number of on‑site and flexible location days varies from week to week.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary work primarily involves sitting/standing; communicating with others to exchange information; repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers; and assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
