MHW Search has exclusively partnered with a reputable Multifamily Investment & Development firm with over $6bn in AUM. We are seeking a Director of Capital Markets to join the team.
Position Overview The Director of Capital Markets will be responsible for leading all debt financing activities across the firm’s acquisitions, development, and existing portfolio. This individual will play a key role in structuring and executing financing solutions, managing lender relationships, and optimizing the firm’s capital stack across a diverse pipeline of deals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead sourcing, structuring, and execution of debt financing across acquisitions, development, and recapitalizations
Build and maintain relationships with banks, debt funds, life companies, CMBS lenders, and other capital providers
Evaluate and structure financing strategies including construction loans, bridge financing, and permanent debt
Run competitive financing processes, including lender outreach, term sheet negotiation, and closing coordination
Collaborate closely with acquisitions and development teams to align financing strategies with deal underwriting
Analyze and optimize capital stack structures, including leverage, pricing, covenants, and risk profile
Oversee due diligence and closing processes with lenders, legal teams, and internal stakeholders
Monitor existing portfolio debt, including refinancings, extensions, and ongoing lender compliance
Prepare internal materials related to financing strategy, capital markets conditions, and deal execution
Qualifications
5–10 years of experience in real estate finance, capital markets, lending, or investment roles
Strong experience across debt execution including construction, bridge, and permanent financing
Established relationships with lenders and capital providers
Deep understanding of loan structures, underwriting, and capital stack dynamics
Experience working across industrial, multifamily, or commercial real estate assets preferred
Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
Proven ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
