Job Overview
The Mount Sinai Health System seeks an exceptional development professional to expand its high‑end annual capacity and raise philanthropic support for Women’s and Children’s Health. The Associate Director will be a self‑starter who enjoys working with donors and prospects in a hospital setting and possesses strong project‑management skills. This hybrid role requires on‑site work in alignment with departmental priorities and may involve occasional evening or weekend hours. Employees must reside within commuting distance of the 42nd Street Midtown NYC office.
Responsibilities
Identify, cultivate, and solicit high‑end annual gifts (under $100k) and develop a major‑gift pipeline focused on strategic clinical and research areas within Women’s and Children’s Health.
Manage a portfolio of 200–300+ donors and patient prospects, implementing solicitation strategies that highlight the institution’s strategic priorities.
Meet activity and revenue goals in partnership with the Senior Directors of Development for Women’s Health and Children’s Health, tailored to the institution’s needs and opportunities.
Collaborate with Stewardship and Events teams to plan and execute events that educate and steward major donors and prospects.
Promote positive donor relationships through thoughtful, tailored communications and stewardship strategies.
Partner with Development Communications and Annual Giving colleagues to increase donor support and engagement, including stewardship of giving circles and other collective‑giving vehicles.
Engage internal partners such as faculty and development staff as needed.
Evaluate gift opportunities and recommend suitable giving vehicles; develop, write, and present proposals tailored to donor interests and financial situations.
Perform other duties as defined.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Six or more years of fundraising or related experience.
Familiarity with fundraising databases and knowledge of medical institutions’ academic, administrative, and financial structures.
Minimum Computer Skills
Proficiency with Raisers Edge or other fundraising databases.
General Skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, and colleagues.
Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and fundraising abilities.
Strategic thinker with sound judgment and strong analytical skills.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and capable of managing a demanding schedule.

Compensation $79,720 – $161,199 annually. Salary range may vary based on experience, education, and operational need. Additional compensation such as bonuses or other benefits are not included.
