
Senior Estimator - Renewable Energy (Indianapolis or Fargo)

Overview
As a
Senior Estimator , you'll play a key role in delivering utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects across the U.S. This role goes far beyond quantity takeoffs—you will lead large conceptual EPC bids, shape pricing strategy, evaluate risk, and coordinate directly with Directors, VPs, and Executives to build winning proposals.
Location:
This role can be located in our corporate Indianapolis, IN or Fargo, ND office, supporting projects nationwide with minimal travel. This position gives you the opportunity to mentor junior estimators, collaborate across Engineering, Procurement, Scheduling, and Construction, and influence the pursuit of billion-dollar renewable infrastructure projects that support long-term U.S. energy needs.
Responsibilities
Perform complete conceptual estimates for large, complex EPC projects from receipt of bid package through final bid review, including site visits, scope determination, Material Takeoff, input data into estimating systems, questions to Owner/Engineer and qualifications
Manage the bid timeline to ensure accurate and timely preparation of a complete estimate
Function as a team player; create an environment where other groups and individuals want to work with you
Conceptualize portions of the estimate
Organize and detail the estimate so manhours can be properly applied, easily understood for review, and efficiently turned over to field personnel
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of construction estimating and manage bid teams for large projects
Train and mentor Estimator I and II levels
Lead responsibilities: site visits, RFQ requirements, questions to owner/engineer, turnover of bid to field, material takeoffs, etc.
Ability to lead as Lead Estimator on estimates as assigned

Qualifications Education and work experience
Minimum of 7 years of estimating or project management experience in construction (EPC preferred).
Associate or bachelor's degree in Estimating, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
Experience in utility-scale solar, wind, or battery energy storage estimation or large-scale heavy civil estimation is highly desired but not required.
Experience leading full bids and coordinating with vendors/subcontractors.
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, contract types, and RFP requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional teams and presenting clear, timely estimates.
Ability to solve complex problems, lead cross-functional stakeholders, and manage deadlines.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities

Read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
Respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Effective verbal and written communication; basic arithmetic as needed.

Knowledge of construction techniques, estimating, and construction management.
Knowledge of contract types including Engineer-Procure-Construct, Design-Build, and Joint Venture.
