About this role
This role will be a key member of the BlackRock Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions – Model Portfolio Solutions Strategist team. The team works alongside Portfolio Managers and focuses on commercializing model portfolios for Financial Advisors and their clients.
The widespread adoption of Model Portfolios is one of the most significant evolutions in the Wealth Management industry over the last decade! As the industry drives towards greater simplicity, clarity, cost efficiency, and goals-based financial planning, the Model Portfolio Solutions Business (MPS) is uniquely positioned to support advisors and accelerate the adoption of model portfolios. Through the MPS franchise, advisors can tap into BlackRock’s industry leading model portfolio investment framework to access a range of solutions to meet their clients unique needs and investment objectives.
Deliver An Excellent Client And Sales Experience
In close partnership with USWA Market Teams, deliver the MPS value proposition to clients – articulate market views and insights, provide in depth overviews of investment capabilities and portfolio positioning, provide thought leadership on asset allocation and portfolio construction
Lead new business engagements and support existing client relationships by delivering BlackRock’s best thinking on an ongoing basis via virtual updates and in-person meetings as needed.
Build strong relationships with sales, distribution partners and advisory clients to deliver commercial results aligned with business objectives.
Work cross-functionally with multiple partner teams to deliver BlackRock models “surround sound” on an ongoing basis. Close partnerships include marketing, communications, technology, legal, and compliance teams
Serve as an Extension of Portfolio Managers and Research Analysts
Work closely with model portfolio managers and research analysts, bringing to bear their systematic investment and market insights
Deliver PM insights across a variety of mediums – including written, audio, video – for both internal and external audiences
Provide client feedback to PM team on an ongoing basis
Manage Projects To Drive Growth And Scale The Business
Support critical initiatives to scale the Models business and its integration across MASS and other parts of the firm, including but not limited to client-facing market leaders, Models Infrastructure, MASS Core PM, and Aladdin Wealth Tech.
Think creatively about ways to improve the Models operating model and deliver on automation and scale-oriented projects to support the business’s growth objectives and risk mitigation.
Support all aspects of the day-to-day operating procedures in partnership with Core PM and Models Infrastructure to support business needs.
Lead new product development initiatives in projects with partners in sales, marketing, communications, product strategy and other teams
Qualifications / Skills
BA/BS required. Advanced Degree / CFA / CAIA / CFP, or progress towards, is strongly preferred
A minimum of 4 years investment or asset management experience
Client facing experience in asset or wealth management
Combination of investment, analytical, technical and client skills
Student of the market with fluid understanding of financial markets, portfolio construction and analysis
Entrepreneurial with a sense of ownership and keen sense to build a business
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and process
Collegial attitude and eagerness to partner with numerous teams across MASS and the broader firm
For San Francisco, CA and New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$150,000.00 - USD$200,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
