Director of Investments, Investment Office Boston University’s investment office seeks a senior investment professional to join as Director of Investments. The successful candidate will manage and grow a diversified global portfolio of approximately $4 billion, working closely with senior staff and the Chief Investment Officer to align investments with the University’s strategic goals and risk tolerance.

Position Overview

Lead investment strategy development and portfolio construction across multiple asset classes with a focus on private markets.

Conduct rigorous due‑diligence, manager evaluation, and ongoing monitoring of investment holdings.

Prepare and present investment materials to the Investment Committee and other University stakeholders.

Collaborate with the investment team to conduct data‑driven analysis and to share investment research.

Represent the University’s interests in external investment manager relationships.

Eligibility & Compensation

At least 10 years of investment experience, with a strong track record in private equity and related asset classes.

Demonstrated investment judgment and curiosity; expertise in portfolio construction and risk assessment.

Membership on an executive management team with a collaborative, data‑driven culture.

Advanced professional designations such as MBA or CFA preferred.

Salary range: $350,000–$750,000 annually, plus bonus opportunity.

Base salary commensurate with experience; possibility to work remotely two days per week after initial integration.

Team player who also works independently and mentors junior staff.
