
SWS CALL CENTER REPRESENTATIVE ( SWS Account Reprresentative III) - Range 11 / A
Municipality of Anchorage, Campbell, AK, United States
Open to the general public and any current Municipality of Anchorage employee. The position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.
Title Account Representative III – Solid Waste Services
Responsibilities Under minimal supervision, acts as the first point of contact at disposal sites and in customer service administrative areas. Performs duties in the scale house, cash booth, customer call center, and code enforcement units related to the collection and disposal of solid waste. Handles customer inquiries, screens disposal loads for acceptable content and hazardous materials, determines special handling or assessment fees, and processes payments, services, rates, fees, and fines in accordance with ordinances. Cross‑trained across all customer service units and four disposal sites, may also train employees at lower levels. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least three (3) years of experience in a customer service, collection, or accounting environment, including one (1) year at the Account Representative II level with the Municipality or equivalent elsewhere.
A typing speed of 100 KS‑P‑M.
Proficient knowledge of municipal ordinances, code enforcement policies, cash handling policies, services, rates, fees, fines, and payment options.
Valid State of Alaska driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
Successful completion of a satisfactory background check, including criminal, education, and employment history.
Required Documentation Applicants must submit a copy of their Alaska driver’s license and a current copy of their Department of Motor Vehicles driving record. Applicants must also provide a satisfactory background check at the time of hire.
Military Service Interview Preference Veterans and members of the National Guard or organized military reserves may be considered for interview preference as provided in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D. Required documentation includes DD Form 214, DD Form 256, NGB Form 22, or a letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Current service members must provide proof of active status. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.
Remote Work Remote work schedule opportunities may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work per P&P 40‑40.
