Sr. Electrical Designer

What You Will Do:
GFT is seeking a Sr. Electrical Designer to join our Buildings and Places Business Group in Fife, WA. This full‑time on‑site role requires a 5‑day week at our Fife, WA location.
The electrical team is dedicated to creating efficient, innovative solutions for electrical systems, ensuring comfort and sustainability in every project. From energy‑efficient power systems to advanced HVAC and plumbing designs, our team contributes to a resilient and sustainable built environment, pushing the boundaries of building system design and optimizing performance while addressing the unique needs of each facility.
You will be challenged to deliver customer‑focused, high‑quality results on every project, handling both design work and project management.
Design and model building and site power systems.
Design and model building and site lighting systems.
Size, coordinate, and specify lighting fixtures and electrical distribution equipment.
Calculate and analyze electrical loads.
Perform lighting calculations to ensure adequate light distribution and energy‑efficient design.
Provide design support in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
Attend meetings with the project team, including architects and other engineering disciplines.
Ensure electrical design complies with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
Prepare documentation for permit applications and agency review.
Perform site visits and write field reports.
Assist project managers to troubleshoot design and construction challenges.
Education | Experience:
Minimum of 3–5 years experience in the A/E/C industry
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience with Revit MEP, AutoCad, Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a team
Excellent attention to detail
Authorization to work in the United States (required)
Compensation: The salary range for this role is $81,000 – $100,000, dependent upon experience and geographic location.
