The Role

HII has an exciting opportunity for a Public Relations Rep 2 at our Corporate office in Arlington, VA. This role provides broad support across the Corporate Communications team through communications, marketing, operational, and administrative responsibilities, supporting employee communications, leadership communications, news monitoring, budget coordination, and department operations.

  • Content strategy support and creation, including gathering, writing, editing, and distributing content for internal and external channels such as newsletters, emails, and major reports.
  • Executive communications content creation and editing, including emails, slide presentations, and social media posts.
  • Planning and coordination of corporate events, town halls, team meetings, and trade show representation.
  • Financial and budget management support, tracking spending, invoice processing, vendor coordination, and expense reporting.
  • Logistics support for media tours and special events.
  • Coordination of photo and video production, including employee feature stories and digital asset management.
  • Oversight of HII’s employee discount program and company store.
  • Support for crisis communications planning, training, and responses.
  • Management of the communications email inbox, reviewing, routing, and responding to requests.
  • Management of department processes and procedures.

Travel

10%-25% of the time, including occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience, OR Master’s Degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience.

Nice to Have

  • Strong writing, communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
  • Creative problem‑solving, interpersonal, presentation skills, and a can‑do attitude.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
  • Knowledge of AP style writing.
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS 365.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
