Division Asset Protection Director Albertsons Companies is seeking a strong, people-centered Division Asset Protection Director to lead Asset Protection strategy across a multi-state division. This role is critical to protecting our customers, associates, and assets while partnering closely with Operations to reduce risk, drive compliance, and support safe, productive stores and facilities.

Position Purpose The Division Asset Protection Director provides strategic leadership for Asset Protection across retail stores, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities (as applicable). This role balances prevention, investigation, compliance, and operational partnership to reduce loss, mitigate risk, and foster a culture of safety, integrity, and accountability aligned with Albertsons Companies’ values.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute Asset Protection strategy across a multi-state division, aligning programs with business priorities and risk trends.

Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Labor Relations, and Legal to ensure practical, compliant, and effective Asset Protection practices.

Oversee loss prevention, safety, and security programs to protect customers, associates, company property, and inventory.

Direct internal and external investigations, including theft, fraud, workplace violence, harassment, discrimination, and wage and hour concerns.

Ensure investigations are conducted objectively and in partnership with HR, Labor Relations and Legal, with clear documentation and reporting.

Support the company in hearings, arbitration, union matters, and regulatory proceedings; provide expert testimony when required.

Drive shrink reduction initiatives using data, analytics, technology, and targeted interventions.

Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, company policies, and applicable federal, state and local regulations.

Conduct Asset Protection and compliance audits; deliver findings and partner with leaders on corrective action plans.

Lead, develop, and coach Asset Protection leaders and teams, including managers, ORC teams, and hourly specialists.

Support hiring, performance management, promotions, and development of Asset Protection personnel.

Manage relationships with law enforcement, government agencies, and third-party security providers.

People Leadership Direct leadership responsibility for 5–7 Asset Protection Managers/Representatives, Organized Retail Crime teams, and Asset Protection hourly specialists. The role also partners closely with store and facility leaders across the Division.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

8+ years of progressive experience in retail Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or a related field, including leadership responsibilities.

Strong knowledge of applicable laws related to investigations, theft, fraud, wage and hour compliance, and workplace conduct.

Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional partners, and exercise sound judgment in complex situations.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Comfort using data, analytics, and technology to identify trends and drive preventive action.

Travel & Work Environment Division-wide travel required, up to approximately 70%, including overnight travel. The role includes a combination of office-based work and frequent visits to stores and facilities.
