Associate Director of Facilities and Event Management The Associate Director of Facilities and Event Management coordinates the day-to-day functions of assigned sports programs, plans and organizes activities, communicates program policy and procedures, and establishes and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external university constituents including coaches, staff, officials and vendors. This position serves as the direct backup to the Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities and Event Management.

Responsibilities

Overseeing assigned athletic facilities for upkeep and maintenance and ensuring the facility is prepared and ready for competition and spectator use.

Identifying, understanding and problem‑solving issues in assigned areas.

Supervising and managing student workers and various temp employees.

Serving as the main program contact and game‑day manager for assigned sports.

Ensuring event operations for all UNCW athletic events meet set expectations.

Managing the rental of assigned facilities and grounds maintenance for those assigned facilities.

Assisting in ground maintenance when needed.

Work Schedule Night and weekend work is required.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of training and experience). All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior relevant working experience in Division I athletic programs.

Experience with athletics facilities and event management.

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations concerning athletic programs.

Experience with electronic work order programs.

Required Certifications or Licensure None.
