
Test Director

Leidos' Defense Systems RFS Division is seeking a Test Director to join our Airworthiness Test and Evaluation group in Huntsville, Alabama. The role supports our Product Offices by applying scientific theory, design experimentation, and engineering principles in the test and evaluation mission for Aircraft Survivability Equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
Aircraft Survivability Equipment testing, including qualitative and quantitative assessment of sensors, jammers, software upgrades, and other aircraft survivability systems.
Apply practical knowledge to flight‑testing principles and concepts applicable to DoD aircraft developmental and system qualification testing.
Provide traceability from requirement to technical specifications.
Lead and execute testing events, develop test plans and procedures for hardware and software testing.
Assist other engineers in designing and executing tests, analyzing data, and reporting and documenting results, including interpreting the significance of findings.
Experience working in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.
Support the development of the Test Strategy and/or Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP).
Lead the T&E Integrated Product Team (IPT).
Support test planning with the OEM and Government Test Agencies to include ATEC and its subordinates for developmental and operational test events, including Live Fire Test & Evaluation (LFTE).
Participate and/or lead T&E WIPT sub‑working groups such as LFTE, ASE, test Modeling and Simulation (M&S), etc.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Mathematics, Physics).
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must possess an active Secret clearance.
Familiar with Missile Systems, Weapon Systems, Infrared Seeker Systems, and/or Radar Systems.
Familiar with leading and executing test events and developing test plans and procedures for hardware and software testing.
Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Highly organized, demonstrating the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, highly productive environment.
0+ years experience working on aircraft survivability programs.
Previous military experience or familiarity with army aviation platforms.
Ability to create design documentation, requirements specifications, and other technical documentation.
Pay and Benefits Pay and benefits are fundamental to any career decision. Compensation ranges from $50,700.00 to $91,650.00 and includes competitive salary, health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement plans.
