About Your Role As an Asset Protection Analyst at Dollar Tree, you’ll support shrink reduction efforts by analyzing large data sets to identify fraudulent behavior, irregular activity, training gaps, and operational trends. Through reporting, insights, and cross‑functional collaboration, you’ll help drive performance improvement and strengthen asset protection strategies across the business.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Conduct in-depth analysis using data from multiple sources to identify and reduce register fraud and operational shrink
Deliver weekly and monthly reporting on store transaction data and key performance indicators
Monitor and analyze POS transaction data using exception‑based reporting systems to identify patterns of theft, fraud, or policy violations
Develop and refine queries, dashboards, and alerts to enhance detection of high‑risk behaviors
Insights, Investigations & Recommendations
Provide actionable recommendations to improve performance and reduce loss
Collaborate with field Asset Protection teams and leadership to validate findings and develop detailed case reports
Assist in internal investigations by providing data‑driven insights and transaction histories
Utilize CCTV platforms to validate fraud and support investigative needs
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Support
Support ad hoc data and analysis requests from Asset Protection and Operations leadership teams
Coordinate with field Asset Protection teams to review exceptions and control shrink
Identify opportunities and help coordinate projects across Asset Protection teams and external partners
Training, Presentations & Continuous Improvement
Develop and deliver presentations and reporting solutions for corporate and field leaders
Lead training sessions and provide guidance on POS compliance and fraud prevention best practices
Drive continuous improvement in analysis and reporting to enhance actionability and effectiveness
Present findings and insights to executive leadership, sponsors, and cross‑functional teams
Your Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required and/or 3–4 years of experience in an analytical role
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Advanced computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
Experience leveraging business intelligence and query tools
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience developing and delivering presentations and training sessions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
