Social Platforms Director

For Michigan, Detroit, MI, United States

Overview There are over 80 colleges and universities in the state of Michigan, with nearly half a million students.

Founded in 2024, For Michigan organizes students across the state to turn out in critical statewide elections. In 2024, our program broke campus turnout records, with more votes cast in campus precincts than in 2020, 2016, or 2012.

Building on that success, For Michigan’s 2026 campus mobilization program is investing in full‑time organizers, paid student fellows, and student‑driven digital content. Our goal is to empower thousands of students to lead their peers in registering, pledging, and voting—ensuring historic youth turnout in the 2026 midterms.

About the Role We are seeking a Social Platforms Director to support For Michigan’s digital strategy statewide in 2026. The Social Platforms Director, in concert with the Digital Director, will oversee the organization’s social media and content creation pipeline and support digital operations spanning our digital organizing efforts to paid media programs, ensuring our online presence drives action on campuses and translates to votes at the ballot box.

This role will also eventually directly manage five regional Social Media Managers and support a growing network of student content creators, fellows, and organizers contributing to digital content. You will sit at the intersection of strategy and execution—turning raw campus energy into viral, student‑centered content and digital systems that maximize reach and impact.
