
Cash Applications Specialist

Position Overview
The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for using reports, tools, and other resources provided by Aveanna to accurately post cash receipts to the company's accounts receivable records. This includes payment for all primary, secondary, tertiary, or any other payer, including guarantors, and covers commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and private accounts.
Essential Job Functions
Oversee day‑to‑day duties of cash application specialists.
Download EFT files and lockbox data from the SunTrust Bank portal and process 835 files from the EFT and lockbox spreadsheets.
Work with Centralized Billers, Collectors, and Cash Application Specialists to ensure payments are applied accurately.
Assist with month‑end close activities.
Process and apply cash transfers.
Train, guide, monitor, and answer questions for new and existing cash apps employees.
Log completed cash batches properly.
Interpret and apply payer recoupments.
Demonstrate problem‑solving skills.
Enforce business rules and SOX 404 controls related to cash applications.
Apply cash and denials as needed.
Evaluate data, reports, feedback, and observations to determine priorities.
Use prior knowledge and industry experience to resolve problems.
Conduct all assignments professionally and urgently.
Use professional communication and conflict resolution techniques as required.
Reference and reflect the company mission and values in completing and assigning work.
Requirements
Maintain records and perform data entry.
High school degree or equivalent.
One year of related experience in a healthcare environment.
Experience with computers, calculators, 10‑key, and basic office equipment.
