Senior Tax Analyst
PRIMARY ACTIVITIES
• Assists in the preparation of tax accounting calculations required to comply with FAS 109, FIN 18, FIN 48 and other tax accounting related GAAP
• Assists in the preparation and completion of specifically assigned federal, foreign, and state income tax returns, federal excise tax returns, information reporting, and other forms as necessary.
• Responsible for tax accounting and reporting impact of FAS 123R
• Manages compliance with GAAP and SEC promulgations
• Assists in the preparation and analysis of various tax projects, including R&D credit, accounting methods, meals & entertainment, fixed assets, section 199, 263A, transfer pricing, medical device excise tax, international tax, etc.
• Assists in the IRS and state tax audit process
• Researches, interprets and applies tax accounting laws applicable to new business, transactions, and new items.
• Consults with tax management regarding day to day compliance with tax laws and changes needed to comply with new regulations
• Assist in tax education of the tax department and accounting department staff
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required
• A minimum of four (4) years of Tax compliance and tax provision experience
• Strong analytical, organization and communication skills
• Extensive knowledge of desktop applications
5+ to 7 years experience
Minimum Education - Bachelor's Degree

Support and implement process and technology improvement initiatives, including AI based solutions

Proactively develops and implements improved processes to minimize income tax risk and enhance internal controls

Analysis of changes to federal, state and international tax laws

Assists internal and external auditors with information requests and explanations as needed

Perform special projects and ad hoc analysis as requested

Minimum 4 years of corporate income tax experience (a combination of working in public accounting & corporate tax department)

Working knowledge of ASC 740 (SFAS109, APB23, FIN18, FIN48) and SOX404

Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, vlookup, hlookup formulas, etc.)

Experience with AI-based automation, tax research software, and document management technologies

Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills

Communicates with clarity, both orally and in writing

Self-starter with ability to manage competing projects in time-constrained environment

Active learner - able to enhance personal, professional and business growth through new knowledge and experiences; pushes the organization to learn from other industries' standards and practices

Knowledge of Oracle HFM and SAP

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline required

Masters in Tax and/or CPA

The base salary range for this position is $86,960-117,520* The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition the position may be eligible to participate in the benefits program which include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending accounts.

Liaise with 3rd party for preparation and review of return filings.

Preparation of federal taxable income computations.

Prepare federal taxable income supporting workpapers.

Support of special projects and research.

Leverage tax research software to analyze legislative changes and support compliance execution related to changes at Federal, State, and Local levels.

Preparation of special analyses in support of mergers and acquisitions and strategic tax planning.

Maintain workpapers supporting state conformity based on ongoing legislative updates.

Process improvement leveraging tax technology.

Identify opportunities requiring process improvement/automation.

Develop new and maintain existing Alteryx workflows.

Enhance workpapers and processes utilizing advanced and future tools including Power Query, Power Automate, CoPilot and others.

Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree required in Accounting, Finance or related field.

2+ years of professional related experience in public accounting or corporate tax; State & Local Tax preferred.

Preferred Education, Training And Experience

Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred but not required.

CPA preferred but not required.

State and local tax experience preferred.

Preferred software expertise: onesource tax provision, alteryx, ms power query, onesource income tax, sap.

Compensation and Benefits\nThe estimated salary range for this role based in the US is between $80,000 – $106,800. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMérieux’s bonus program. Preferred

CPA (progress toward) or Master's of Taxation degree is preferred.

Background in public accounting (Big 4 or similar) or experience working in a corporate tax department.

Experience with C Corporation tax returns and IRS Form 1120 highly preferred.

Experience in tax provision, Schedule M and deferred taxes for corporations preferred.

Experience with income tax compliance and income tax return preparation software (CorpTax and Oracle software platforms preferred)

Familiarity with interim and year‑end income tax provision calculations (i.e. ASC 740)
