Role Overview The Director of Communications is responsible for shaping and elevating Landis+Gyr’s corporate narrative both externally and internally during a period of strategic transformation. This leader will build visibility, credibility, and trust through disciplined media engagement, consistent messaging, and strong executive counsel, and will work closely with the CEO, CMO, CFO, and executive leadership team.
Key Responsibilities

Translate complex grid‑edge, software, and intelligence capabilities into messages that emphasize impacts: resilience, reliability, affordability, and sustainability.
Partner with the executive team, legal, and financial stakeholders to ensure corporate communications, media narratives, and executive messaging are disciplined, compliant, and ready to support a potential public‑market transition.
Work closely with the Investor Relations team to ensure alignment.
Support employee communications to build excitement and pride.
Lead global media relations with a primary focus on shaping and shifting market perception.
Develop proactive media strategies that position Landis+Gyr as a category leader in intelligent energy and grid modernization.
Build and maintain strong relationships with top‑tier business, energy, technology, and trade media.
Secure high‑quality coverage that supports long‑term brand leadership.
Serve as a trusted communications advisor to the CEO, CFO, CMO, and executive leadership team.
Develop executive messaging, media preparation, speaking points, and thought leadership content.
Provide clear, steady counsel in sensitive situations, ensuring alignment, credibility, and confidence.
Lead corporate analyst relations in partnership with marketing, government relations, and product leadership.
Ensure analysts clearly understand Landis+Gyr’s strategy, differentiation, and evolution.
Support briefings, inquiries, and ongoing engagement to reinforce consistent positioning.
Own crisis communications planning, playbooks, and execution.
Anticipate potential reputational risks in a highly visible, regulated environment.
Act decisively during issues or incidents to protect trust and credibility.
Share, with digital marketing, corporate social media strategy with an emphasis on executive visibility, thought leadership, and brand credibility.
Ensure social channels reinforce core narratives and amplify earned media.

Qualifications
10+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related disciplines.
Significant experience in enterprise technology, software, or infrastructure‑focused B2B environments.
Proven success leading media relations programs that shift perception and elevate brand credibility.
Strong background in executive communications and crisis management.
Experience building communications programs from the ground up and scaling them globally.
Ability to operate comfortably in complex, regulated, and high‑stakes environments.
Exceptional writing, messaging, and storytelling skills.
Strategic thinker with a practical, hands‑on execution mindset.
Trusted presence with the ability to influence across functions and geographies.
BA/BS required; MBA preferred.

per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, skills, level of education, certifications, and other professional licenses.
