
Strategic Enterprise Architect-HC

Salary Range: $130,000.00 To $160,000.00 Annually
As a Strategic Enterprise Architect, you will serve as a recognized expert and trusted advisor to nonprofit clients, helping them define and evolve enterprise technology strategies that enable mission-driven outcomes. You will lead enterprise-wide architecture assessments, guide platform and ecosystem decisions, and translate complex business and technology landscapes into clear, actionable strategies.
You will operate within Heller Consulting’s Strategy Practice, partnering closely with client executives, internal consulting teams, and practice leaders to shape transformation roadmaps and inform downstream implementation efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Translate client business strategy into scalable, enterprise-level technology architectures and modernization roadmaps. Business acumen is as important to this position as being a strategic technologist.
Lead enterprise architecture assessments across business capabilities, applications, data, integrations, and infrastructure, developing a comprehensive view of current-state environments and future opportunities
Drive projects to completion within reasonable budget and schedule constraints.
Develop executive-ready deliverables including architecture diagrams, capability models, technology roadmaps, and decision frameworks
Define architecture principles, standards, and guardrails that guide decision-making across initiatives and platforms
Advise clients on platform strategy, with a strong emphasis on SaaS-based solutions, Salesforce ecosystems, and cross-platform integration approaches
Evaluate and recommend technology solutions appropriate for nonprofit organizations that are balancing cost, scalability, and long-term sustainability
Provide architectural leadership across digital transformation initiatives, including cloud adoption, data strategy, and AI-enabled capabilities
Assess and design enterprise data and integration strategies, ensuring systems interoperability, data quality, and long-term extensibility
Identify opportunities to leverage automation and AI as part of broader modernization efforts, and define appropriate architectural approaches
Serve as a client-facing thought leader, facilitating executive workshops, guiding strategic discussions, and influencing key decisions
Contribute to business development efforts, including shaping proposals, solution approaches, and client presentations
Provide architectural guidance across engagements as needed, advising teams on complex or enterprise-level considerations
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years of experience consulting or a proven track record providing similar client‑facing professional services.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or related roles within a nonprofit organization or higher education IT department or consulting environment
Experience working directly with executive stakeholders and translating complex technical concepts into clear business insights that drove sustainable change
Proven ability to lead enterprise‑wide architecture assessments and define end‑to‑end technology strategies
Deep technical credibility across application, data, integration, and infrastructure domains
Experience architecting SaaS‑based ecosystems, including Salesforce and related platforms, with an understanding of multi‑cloud and integration patterns
Exposure to AI‑enabled solutions, automation platforms, and analytics capabilities within enterprise environments
Demonstrated experience supporting digital transformation initiatives, including cloud adoption, data strategy, and technology modernization
Ability to evaluate technology options and define scalable, sustainable architecture approaches aligned to client constraints
Strong understanding of non‑functional considerations such as security, performance, scalability, and cost optimization
Proven ability to operate as a client‑facing advisor and influence strategic decision‑making
Experience contributing to consulting sales efforts, including proposals and solutioning
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with nonprofit organizations and understanding of mission‑driven operating models
Familiarity with Salesforce ecosystem components such as NPSP, Agentforce/Nonprofit Cloud, Data Cloud, and integration tools
Experience with architecture frameworks, modeling approaches, or governance practices
Relevant industry or platform certifications
LOCATION Remote, U.S. Some company‑funded travel may be required to attend client onsites, sales support activities, conferences, or to participate in annual staff activities or in‑person team meetings.
WORKING HOURS Our business operation requires employees to work in one of the four, continental U.S. time zones during regular, Mon‑Fri business hours.
Pay Range expected for the position: $130k-$160k annually.
