Title: Assessment Lead for the Mobile Crisis Assessment Team
Job Type: Full time
How you'll contribute As an Assessment Lead, you’ll play a vital role in the evaluation and admission process in partnership with on‑call physicians. You will assist the director of assessment in directing departmental activities and monitoring the quality of services provided.
Essential Functions
Facilitates response to requests for services, including the initial response, assessment and referral process, designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services and appropriate follow‑up activity
Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, needs and provides information to MD for LOC determination
Demonstrates excellent customer‑service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner
Possesses clear knowledge of emergency detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA
Maintains all pre‑admission and admission paperwork with accuracy, completes all per‑certification with insurance companies
Ensures appropriate staffing for shift
Minimizes use of overtime
Assists in monitoring attendance
Educates and coaches staff and acts as a point person for clinical decisions
Reports all issues and incidents to the Director in an appropriate manner
Ensures staff has completed all needed documentation, call logging, insurance calls, and additional tasks prior to the end of shift
Additional Information
Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred. Must have strong clinical assessment skills.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
Associate's Degree in Nursing required or Master's degree in Social Work/Counseling required.
License:
Current clinical, social work, or RN license as required by state regulations.
Certifications:
CPR and De‑escalation certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
