
Orchestra Co-Manager

ORCHESTRA CO-MANAGER POSITION AVAILABLE
West Seattle Community Orchestras (WSCO) is seeking a part‑time Orchestra Co‑Manager for the 2026‑27 season. The position works alongside another part‑time Orchestra Manager to support the business and digital aspects of our organization and other duties.
ABOUT WSCO WSCO is a 501(c)(3) non‑profit that offers four ensembles—beginning, intermediate, advanced—and a Wind Symphony. We mix students and adults based on ability, and we provide three beginner string classes (students, adults, and preparatory). Our typical Tuesday schedule is 5:30‑6:45 for the Debut (beginning) and Concert (intermediate) orchestras plus the student string class, and 7:00‑9:00 for the Symphony (advanced), Wind Symphony and adult string class. We hold three sessions per year (Oct‑Dec, Jan‑Mar, Mar‑May) with eight rehearsals and a concert each, and combine two ensembles on Tuesday concerts and two on Friday concerts. Rehearsals occur at Chief Sealth International High School in West Seattle and may occasionally shift to Monday due to the school’s scheduling.
DUTIES General Duties
Coordinate registration and auditions for each session.
Create ensemble rosters for each session.
Collaborate with the VP and conductors to schedule the season.
Distribute weekly digital announcements to members.
Coordinate sectional staff assignments and locations.
Attend all monthly board meetings (usually the last Wednesday of the month, via Zoom).
Handle incoming email inquiries.
Serve on committees as needed.
Audition Nights
Create audition schedules.
Post room schedules.
Distribute rubric sheets to judges.
Concert Nights
Prepare concert programs.
Ensure rooms, bathrooms, stage, auditorium, commons, and lobbies are set up.
Guide musicians to appropriate rooms.
Comfort with digital platforms is essential.
Compensation and Workload The position pays $28 per hour. Average hours vary by season, with September being busiest. On average, candidates can expect about 16 hours per month. Additional duties outside these hours are compensated accordingly.
Applicants should attend a few Tuesday rehearsals to learn about WSCO and work with the co‑manager. The position is part‑time and will not expand at this time.
