Brentwood Hospital is searching for a caring and compassionate master’s prepared mental health clinician or Licensed RN for the
Assistant Director of Intake

The Assistant Director of Admissions assists the Director of Admissions with the administrative oversight and direction of the hospital’s Admissions Department. This position provides supervision to a staff of specialists in the provision of patient access to care and behavioral health assessment services, including call management, clinical evaluations for level of care, crisis intervention, admissions and referrals. This position interfaces closely with the hospital’s medical staff, nursing staff, department leaders, and administration, as well as external referring agencies and payers. The Assistant Admissions Director is responsible assisting with departmental adherence to policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and data entry/management. In addition, the Assistant Admissions Director assists in the development and management of processes related to efficient and smooth admission processes. The Assistant Admissions Director reports directly to the Director of Admissions and will assist in interviewing/hiring new staff, staff supervision, clinical case consultation, coordination and organization of day-to-day activities that will enhance effectiveness of the Admissions Department and security to ensure smooth admissions processing for referral sources, families, staff and patients.

Essentials job functions:
Directs the screening of potential patients for admission into the program and initiate the integrated assessment process.
Assists administration, physicians and clinical staff in the assessment of pending admits to determine appropriateness of level of care and communicates pending admissions to the Nursing Department.
With the assistance of the psychiatrist, use the approved admission criteria and make decisions concerning the level of care for treatment using the least restrictive level appropriate. The plan for episode of care is initiated at admission to all levels of care.
Monitors all intake/appointment information calls 24 hours a day and prepares appropriate forms.
Assist Admissions Director in interviewing, hiring and training of staff.
Ensure that a system is developed to provide continuity of care and communication with family and appropriate referral sources, and ensure the system is evaluated and reviewed regularly.

Qualifications Education:
Master’s Degree in social work, psychology or related field. LCSW, LMFT, Ph.D., or RN-Licensure – Bachelor’s preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 1-3 years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable. Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. A minimum of 2-3 years of managing a professional/clinical team and responsible for staffing, budget, and process improvements.
Licensure/Certification:
R.N., L.C.S.W., Ph.D., or applicable license per state regulations preferred. Additional Requirements: Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. Trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Handle With Care and CPR. Knowledge and ability to effectively use computers, analysis programs, and internet for measurement and reporting of key indicators and trends.
