Assistant Family Programming Director

Under the direction of the Family Programming Director, the Assistant Family Programming Director is responsible for ensuring that all childcare operations departments (including Childcare/children’s programs, Youth Center/ youth programs, birthday parties and camps) run efficiently, and to ensure the delivery of professional, high-quality, safe and nurturing childcare services and programs to our membership while always exceeding members expectations. This position is also responsible for ensuring all team members provide a safe, clean, fun environment for children, and execute and support the department’s established guidelines and standards.

This person will also oversee all summer camp operations, ensuring the delivery of professional, high quality and safe camp programs for our members and guests.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsible to manage childcare operations smoothly and efficiently through visible management presence and leadership

Ensure children’s safety through continuous monitoring of safety and performance standards, service provider ratios, childcare facilities, equipment and operational systems; ensure constant interaction with children in our care

Ensure team members work actively and efficiently while on shift

Perform administrative duties including Bay Club Connect, Zendesk, and other assigned platforms, communicating with members, and creating marketing materials

Develop, organize, implement and promote program, camp and birthday parties

Adherence to and enforcement of all health and safety standards; ensure Associates adhere to human resource and work safety practices

Monitor uniform adherence of all childcare and program staff

Communicate timely and follow up as appropriate

Active participation in events, programs, meetings and training

Represent the childcare department and club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow-through and response

Assist staff regarding sick procedures and update director regarding schedule changes

Be present on the floor; support staff and offer assistance as necessary

Meet weekly with Childcare Director to review initiatives and goals; develop programming

Act as the department representative when necessary in the event that the Childcare Director is not present; professionally and appropriately field member questions/concerns.

Train staff to meet or exceed demands of the business; provide feedback and build relationships

Monitor staff to ensure compliance with company guidelines

Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow through and response

Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

Minimum one (1) year of childcare operations/management/supervisory experience

Demonstrated experience creating and implementing innovative children’s programs

Love for children and extensive experience caring for children ages 6 weeks to 13 years

Ability to train staff caring for children ages 6 weeks to 13 years in both childcare and program settings

Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude and abilities

Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills

Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player

Self-motivated, takes initiative and willing to acquire new skills

Well organized and detail oriented

CPR certification required

WORKING CONDITIONS/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to arrive at work on time for all scheduled work shifts required. Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays required.

Must be flexible, adaptable, and readily able to adjust to changes in work environment.

Position requires daily public contact.

It is sometimes necessary to deal with unpleasant or angry people with the need to problem solve difficult situations.

It is necessary to adapt to a frequently changing environment.

Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Frequently required to climb or balance and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Must occasionally sit for extended periods and regularly walk around the facility

Must occasionally talk and hear

Must frequently move 10 pounds and in the event of an emergency lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required but this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
