Job Overview As Vice President on the FIG team, you will work as part of a client‑facing relationship management team with a deep understanding of industry trends, client needs, and BlackRock’s capabilities across investment management, risk, and advisory. The individual will have a book of clients across P&C, Health and Life insurance lines of business. This role is based in New York.
Responsibilities
Lead the day‑to‑day delivery of BlackRock's asset management and associated services, including:
Engaging BlackRock’s capabilities and organization on behalf of clients
Designing, owning, and delivering complex and/or ad‑hoc client requests
Preparation for and participation in client market and portfolio reviews
Responding to regular and ad‑hoc data and analytics requests generated by Aladdin
Ensuring client receives accurate and timely reporting
Acting as an escalation point for internal and external stakeholders with respect to your book of clients
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client counterparts, requiring:
Demonstrating expertise in the client’s industry dynamics and trends as well as specific investment needs
Understanding fundamentals of insurance financial statements, regulatory and accounting trends
Anticipating client needs and responding promptly to inquiries
Cultivating awareness of client‑specific investment and operational priorities and sensitivities
Support new business and product development, including:
Supporting account plan development and execution for current clients to expand relationships and drive commercial opportunities
Developing knowledge of BlackRock products and services
Initiating and designing client‑specific solutions
Supporting implementation, including account set‑up, guideline development, and establishing service needs
Qualifications and Skills
5-8 years of experience in financial services, preferably covering insurance companies in a client coverage capacity
Proven track record of regular engagement and existing relationships with US insurers
Strong understanding of insurers’ investment across regulatory frameworks and trends
Knowledge of fixed income, equity, and alternative markets and instruments
Relevant FINRA requirements (Series 7, 63)
Industry certification (CFA, CAIA, etc.) is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to think and act proactively and multitask in a fast‑paced environment
Ability to train and mentor junior colleagues on insurance relationship management responsibilities
Benefits For New York, NY – salary range: USD$155,000–$210,000. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
