Job Description
As an Intermediate Interior Designer at Paulina Perrault Interiors, you will play a central role in shaping our projects from concept through completion. This position is ideal for a design professional ready to take on substantial responsibility, lead key aspects of projects, and mentor junior team members within a high‑end residential studio. This is an in‑person, hands‑on, multifaceted role that blends creative design, project management, and client engagement. You will collaborate closely with the principal and senior designer to develop compelling design concepts, guide the design team, oversee budgets, coordinate installations, and ensure every project reflects the quality and vision of Paulina Perrault Interiors. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing complex projects while maintaining the highest standards of design and client service. Responsibilities
Design Contribution: Drive the creative process by generating and presenting original design solutions, collaborating with the principal and senior designer to elevate project concepts and achieve a cohesive, high‑end vision. Design Proposals: Develop comprehensive design proposals that outline project scopes, timelines, and cost breakdowns for client approval. Client and Professional Team Interaction: Partner with clients to understand preferences and requirements, and represent the PPI brand with professionalism and care at on‑site meetings and in‑person presentations throughout the project lifecycle, engaging with both clients and project team members. Client‑Facing Presentations: Lead the preparation and presentation of design concepts to clients, translating creative vision into persuasive, high‑impact presentations. Material & Furnishing Selection: Lead the selection of materials, finishes, and furnishings, creating design narratives and presentations for principal and client approval. Design Documentation: Produce detailed drawings, specifications, 3D renderings, and visualizations to communicate design intent. Project Management: Oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to budget. Review and approve work produced by the junior design team before client delivery. Budget & Financial Oversight: Track and manage project budgets and scope, including proposals, estimates, timelines, and billing. Ensure cost‑effective execution and timely updates for clients. Ordering & Expediting: Coordinate procurement, track deliveries, and ensure quality control for all materials and furnishings. Team Leadership: Mentor junior designers, fostering growth, skill development, and collaboration within the studio. Installation Coordination: Assist with scheduling, vendor communication, and on‑site logistics to guarantee seamless project installations. Photoshoot & Installation Coordination: Plan and manage photoshoots, including styling, photographer coordination, and on‑site direction, to showcase completed projects. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field 3–6 years of professional interior design experience, supported by a strong portfolio Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and G‑Suite; experience with Basecamp, Canva, and DesignerLink preferred; strong hand‑drawing and sketching skills. Refined, sophisticated design sensibility and strong proficiency in scale, proportion, furniture layout, color, and materiality Working knowledge of Bay Area design resources, including showrooms, fabricators, builders, and architects Familiarity with local building codes, permitting processes, and construction documentation Strong communication skills with the ability to manage correspondence and coordinate effectively across clients, vendors, and internal teams Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate project documentation Detail‑oriented with strong follow‑through and execution Proactive, collaborative, and intellectually curious Personal vehicle (required) Ability to work on‑site at our Sausalito studio five days per week Competitive salary commensurate with experience Discretionary annual bonus Health, dental, and vision insurance options Unlimited PTO with compliance to employee handbook and manager alignment
