
Housekeeping Director

We are hiring a Director of Housekeeping and Laundry Services to join our team at Webster Manor Rehabilitation & Health Care Center!
This position also oversees the housekeeping/laundry department of Lanessa Extended Care, our sister facility next door. Weekly pay! Salaried role ranging from $30 to $34 an hour, depending on experience.
The Director of Housekeeping and Laundry Services plans, organizes, develops, and directs the operations of the department, including staffing, budgets, and more.
Requirements
Must possess as a minimum a high school diploma.
A minimum of one (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity.
Training in the operation of laundry equipment, practices, and procedures is preferred.
Must be knowledgeable in building cleaning and floor maintenance techniques.
Duties
Meet the laundry and housekeeping needs of the facility.
Manage the department within labor and supply budget guidelines.
Ensure the completion of the laundry process and the delivery of adequate levels of linen.
Ensure that all laundry machinery and equipment are in a safe and efficient working condition.
Maintains chemicals under safe conditions at all times.
Remove torn, worn, or soiled linen or clothing from inventory.
Mend and iron as necessary.
Ensure residents’ rooms are neat, clean, and free from odor.
Wet mops floors daily; buff as requested.
Shampoo and extract carpets as well as strip, seal, and refinish floors.
Empty trash liners and clean containers.
Clean bed and rails with disinfectant.
Clean windows, mirrors, common areas, furniture, etc.
Other Requirements
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Oversees the quality and workmanship of all cleaning personnel and outside contractors.
Must be knowledgeable of housekeeping and laundry practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing housekeeping functions in the long-term care facility.
