As a Sr. Art Director at GSW Santa Monica, you’ll be responsible for concepting, art directing, and presenting creative work across assigned accounts. You’ll partner closely with copywriters on brand and concept development, provide support to ACDs and CDs within the Core Brand Team, and play a hands‑on role in bringing smart, compelling ideas to life. You are both a thinker and a doer—equally comfortable crafting breakthrough concepts, designing compelling visuals across channels (including social), and confidently presenting ideas internally and to clients.
This is a hybrid role for candidates in the Los Angeles area (2 days/week in our Santa Monica office). We are also open to remote candidates located on the West Coast.
What You’ll Do: Act as a hands‑on art director, developing original content in collaboration with copywriters
Partner with copywriters on brand and concept development, from big idea to execution
Take ownership of assigned brands by proactively generating new ideas and pushing creative forward
Ideate and design across channels, including digital, print, and social media, with experience crafting short‑form, engaging social content
Collaborate to implement brand mandatories while pushing creative boundaries
Bring conceptual creativity to every assignment—thinking abstractly, connecting unexpected ideas, and adding value in brainstorming sessions
Quickly learn and apply industry, product, and technical knowledge related to both the client’s business and the agency landscape
Collaborate closely with UX, Technology, and Customer Experience (CX) teams
Lead tactical ideation, creation, and execution of original content across platforms
Maintain the integrity of creative work by shepherding and negotiating content through regulatory and MLR processes, tapping into medical expertise as needed
What You Bring: 3–4 years’ of pharma agency experience
A portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking, design craft, and idea development
Proven experience concepting and designing for social content, with an understanding of platform‑specific best practices
Confidence presenting ideas and collaborating across disciplines
Curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for creating work that connects
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $110,000. Actual salary will vary based on qualifications, skills, and proficiency for the role. Some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and/or individual performance.
