Professional Outpatient Coding Specialist
Maimonides Health, Brooklyn's largest healthcare system, is seeking a professional outpatient coding specialist. This full-time, permanent position is available Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:00PM, totaling 35 hours per week. Responsibilities include contact with physician office staff, billing office staff, and, on occasion, compliance and regulatory personnel. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of a program in ICD 10/CPT 4 coding recognized by the American Health Information Management Association or AAPC, and 1-year prior coding experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, pharmacology, anatomy, physiology is required. Good oral communication and interpersonal skills are required. Bilingual is preferred.
