Director Supply Chain EEM API

Your role:

EEM Global API is managing supply of API from contract manufacturer and suppliers. The position Director of Supply Chain EEM API plays a critical role in the support of the EEM Global API portfolio. The Director of Supply Chain EEM API will have complete responsibility for all aspects of API supply on a global perspective. This includes management of API supply and demand aligned through the Elanco manufacturing organization and R&D, driving operational supply chain excellence and ensuring appropriate levels of service and compliance are met.

The role is key to communicating and collaborating with EEM DP/ and DP manufacturing sites supply chain leadership and global supply chain functions, to ensure balanced supply.

The role will influence, develop, and implement broader EEM API network operational direction and strategies.

The Director of Supply Chain EEM Global API will sit on the EEM Global API lead team.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop business continuity and supply strategy optimizing cost and customer service.
  • Set up and maintain a 24-month API Supply Plan; attend and participate in Global and Hub Supply & Operational Production meetings / processes where applicable.
  • Own the R&O P process for EEM Global API in line with the Global guidelines, ensuring a common and synchronized monthly R&O P process is implemented at the family level for products managed and an appropriate escalation at Regional and Global S&O P forums.
  • Operational Management: Responsible for monitoring and influencing all functional activities associated with product supply from the API CM and suppliers to the first Elanco node; driving collaboration between functional areas (e.g. Planning/Scheduling, MS&T and Quality) to ensure reliable product supply. Lead Sales and Operation meetings with the EEM Global API lead team.
  • Governance of supply chain execution.
  • Contract Management: Work closely with functional leadership on contract terms and negotiation strategies; represent supply chain by assisting procurement with negotiation of new contract manufacturing arrangements and renewals; provide ongoing oversight to ensure site compliance with contractual arrangements.
  • Own CORRS activities for EEM-API, ensuring governance and policies are in place and processes are maintained to support the program; lead coordination with multiple work‑streams, manage the CORRS education program and act as Business Owner for IT tools such as the CORRS dashboard.
  • Provide supply chain oversight for launch and changes managed with PCAPs and LCM projects.
  • Team Leadership: Direct people leadership and performance‑management responsibilities for API supply chain team members.
  • Governance and compliance: Manage API supply chain in accordance with financial, supply‑chain, GDP, Quality, HSE and internationally recognized standards; drive initiatives to continuously adhere to state‑of‑the‑art supply‑chain standards.
  • Ensure a proper Power‑user is established and trained within the hub.
  • Participate in JST meetings with key high‑touch CMs to leverage supply opportunities.
  • Own inventory management, cycle count, write‑off, inventory/stock level.
  • Periodic Assessment: Complete periodic reviews of supply‑chain goals and objectives with CMs/suppliers and internal manufacturing organization, recalibrate expectations as appropriate; conduct supply‑chain metrics for CMs/Suppliers and communicate results to JPT and senior management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive the productivity agenda, continuously improve work practices and reduce costs; lead supply‑chain excellence projects.
  • Change management: Support new product launches, tech transfers and/or phasing out APIs in the supply chain of EEM Global API through established systems (SAP, Veeva).
  • Contribute to the EEM Global API business plan and establish sustainable material and funds flows.
  • Advise/support warehousing and sampling strategy for APIs.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Technical or business discipline.
  • Fluent English speaking and writing.
  • 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated strong performance in a supply‑chain leadership role.
  • ERP knowledge.

  • External manufacturing experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in strategy development, business transformation and operational excellence.
  • Diverse manufacturing experiences, including a range of manufacturing platforms (e.g., bulk manufacturing, liquid and oral solid dose filling/finishing/packaging) and cross‑functional assignments.

  • Reports to: Senior director EEM Global API.
  • Direct reports: approximately 5.
