
Senior Legal Counsel

Responsibilities
- Be the senior legal counsel and an important business partner to provide legal support to the commercialization activities and business development in Greater China market through innovative thinking, thoughtful risk‑taking, and integration of legal considerations into functional initiatives.
- Be a pioneer to drive the team's daily work excellence, streamline the work process, and establish a routine mechanism to facilitate legal counsel’s transparent discussion and experience sharing, ensuring the team is equipped with in‑depth knowledge and advanced tools.
- Conduct legal research and provide legal advice, analysis, training, and guidance on applicable laws and regulations, regulatory and compliance matters, with a mindset of thoughtful risk‑taking to proactively participate in business initiatives and planning to empower business partners.
- Draft, review a wide variety of contracts, promotional or non‑promotional materials, business initiatives, and funding projects from a legal perspective, and provide feasible risk‑mitigation solutions; be deeply and proactively involved in business negotiation and dispute settlement by providing strategic thoughts.
- Collaborate with Compliance (BP, Monitoring & Investigation), Internal Control, Internal Audit, and other risk‑control functions in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and SOPs related to compliance, internal control, and governance.
- Lead in the handling of external inquiries and investigations from government authorities or complaints arising from potential product liability/patient safety issues.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of tools including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Other Qualifications and Experience
- Admitted to practice law (PRC).
- At least 8+ years of combined relevant experience in an in‑house legal department of a pharmaceutical or biotech company, ideally preceded by large, international or national law firm experience.
- At least 5+ years of extensive experience in legal, compliance, and regulatory matters relating to the approval and commercialization of pharmaceutical products is highly preferred.
- Fluent written and oral skills in Mandarin and English.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills in both one‑on‑one and group settings, as well as proven negotiation skills.
- Ability to provide clear, concise, and solutions‑oriented legal advice that is consistent with the Company’s policies and standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and problem‑solving capabilities, and the ability to perform in a fast‑paced, high‑volume, deadline‑driven environment.
- Confidence to advise clients at all levels with limited or moderate oversight.
- Ability to be self‑sufficient while having appropriate judgment to liaise with Legal and Compliance colleagues and/or outside counsel as needed.
Travel
Up to 20% domestic travel.
