Overview

As a Product Control Executive Director, you are an integral member of the CIB Finance & Business Management function with responsibilities including providing accounting support, control oversight, ensuring integrity of the financial statements, and acting as a business advisor supporting product innovation. The Corporate Investment Banking line of business within JPMorgan provides clients with advisory and financial structuring services. The Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Join the Merchant Services controller team, a dynamic business within JP Morgan Payments. JP Morgan Chase’s CIB Merchant Services business combines secure authorization, fraud mitigation, and chargeback management with fast, reliable settlement, enabling businesses to accept card and alternative payments across in-store, online, and in-app channels with global coverage and omnichannel orchestration. Responsibilities

The Product Controller team is an integral component of the Finance & Business Management function and is responsible for providing business advisory and accounting support, control oversight, and integrity of the financial statements and transaction end-to-end control in support of the business. This position offers an opportunity to support the Merchant Services business as it grows in scale and complexity. Successful candidates will be comfortable managing matrixed responsibilities across multiple locations while balancing a diverse set of stakeholder demands. The global controller role establishes cross-jurisdictional priorities and ensures continued compliance with all regional and local regulatory requirements. Ideal candidates will blend technical abilities with thought leadership and a focus on culture building. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oversight of financial statements and management reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting policies including new business initiatives and product review, business performance control, business analytics, and expense management. Given interaction with virtually every part of the firm, Controllers work across JPMorgan businesses, products, and technology systems in depth. The position requires strong accounting, communication, and teamwork skills to develop partnerships across multiple functions and regions.

Required Qualifications, Skills And Capabilities

  • Production, preparation, and reporting of the daily P&L and risk
  • Provide detailed analysis and reporting on the financials to desk heads, business managers, and senior finance management
  • Partner with the business to drive and implement robust controls and new business initiatives
  • Drive coordination across various front & back-office support functions to ensure resolution of control and reporting issues in an accurate and timely manner
  • Serve as an analytical and project support resource for product control
  • Handle various ad-hoc requests on a daily basis
  • Manage projects and initiatives related to all of the above, as well as larger cross-business programs

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, And Capabilities

  • 10+ years within Product Control, Financial Control, Accounting, or related area
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area
  • Solid understanding of financial products required
  • Previous P&L or risk experience required
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Strong technical skills in using Excel and PowerPoint
