An established design-build firm in Santa Monica is seeking a Managing Principal / Practice Director to lead and scale its integrated design-build practice. The studio specializes in delivering high-quality custom homes, guiding clients through the full process from discovery and design through permitting, construction, and move-in. With a strong focus on efficiency, craftsmanship, and resilient building, the practice is growing and requires a senior leader to drive the next phase of expansion.

This role will oversee the strategic, operational, and financial performance of the design-build practice, ensuring seamless integration between design, preconstruction, and construction teams. Working closely with business development and operations leadership, you will shape practice strategy, maintain a strong pipeline of projects, and ensure consistent delivery of exceptional client outcomes.

The ideal candidate will bring 12+ years of experience in architecture, construction, or design-build environments , including senior leadership responsibility with P&L ownership . A strong understanding of integrated project delivery, financial management, and team leadership is essential, along with the ability to guide complex residential projects from concept through completion.
