The Opportunity

Do you thrive in complex, international environments and enjoy leading large‑scale EPC projects? As Deputy Portfolio Director for HVDC, you will play a key leadership role in the execution and governance of a portfolio of high‑value HVDC projects across multiple countries. You will deputize for the HVDC Project Portfolio Director and support the operational delivery, performance management, and continuous improvement of the portfolio—contributing directly to the success of Hitachi Energy’s HVDC business and the transformation of power transmission systems.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Support and deputize for the HVDC Project Portfolio Director across all portfolio‑related activities
• Lead and govern the operational execution of a portfolio of large EPC HVDC projects
• Oversee portfolio performance across cost, schedule, quality, HSE, risk, and staffing
• Drive prioritization between projects and resolve escalated project or customer issues
• Support tender execution strategies, resource planning, and risk reviews
• Promote standardized ways of working, lessons learned, and continuous improvement across the portfolio
• Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and senior internal stakeholders

Your Background

• Degree in Engineering or a related field
• Extensive experience delivering large EPC projects in the energy or industrial sector, preferably HVDC
• Strong portfolio, financial, and risk management capabilities
• Proven leadership experience managing senior project leaders in complex environments
• Ability to operate across multiple stakeholders and influence at senior and executive level
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, results‑driven mindset
