SANDGLASS THEATER (Putney, VT) seeks MANAGING DIRECTOR. Sandglass is an internationally recognized, ensemble-based theater company dedicated to the art of puppetry and interdisciplinary performance. Based in Putney, Vermont, Sandglass creates original productions, presents diverse artists, produces festivals, and engages communities through performance, touring, and educational programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading organizational operations and strategic implementation
  • Managing budgets, financial tracking, databases and long‑term planning
  • Overseeing fundraising efforts, including grants and donor relations
  • Directing marketing and communications across platforms
  • Coordinating touring logistics, partnerships, and venue operations
  • Serving as liaison to the Board of Directors and external stakeholders

Position Details

  • Full‑time (35 hours/week), exempt salaried position $43,680/year
  • Benefits include: 3 weeks paid vacation, 1 week winter break, 9 paid holidays, and 5 paid personal/sick days
  • Some evening and weekend hours are required, with more concentrated work periods during festivals and special events
  • This is an on‑site position based in Putney, Vermont
  • Anticipated start date: July 1st
