The Opportunity
Rise is seeking a strategic and mission-driven Director of Finance to lead financial operations across the organization and its 60+ real estate affiliate entities. This senior leadership role guides financial strategy, ensures strong fiscal stewardship, and supports Rise’s work in affordable housing and community development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial operations, including accounting oversight, internal controls, treasury, and audits.
  • Provide financial oversight for Rise’s real estate portfolio in collaboration with the Director of Asset Management.
  • Oversee CDFI-related financial functions including loan portfolio reporting and compliance with CDFI Fund/Treasury requirements.
  • Develop financial forecasts, scenario planning, and annual consolidated operating budgets.
  • Manage relationships with outsourced bookkeeping, banking partners, investors, and auditors.
  • Prepare and deliver financial reports to senior leadership, funders, and the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of senior nonprofit finance leadership experience.
  • Experience with multi-entity or real-estate-affiliate structures strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of LIHTC, underwriting, or affordable housing financing a plus.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting, fund/grant compliance, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise or similar platforms.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $115,000–$130,000, plus full health benefits, paid leave, and 401(k).
