Responsibilities
- Provide effective committee guidance to the EPA Administrator and other senior Agency decision‑makers on the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) of 1972.
- Support strategic policy and oversight for federal advisory committees (FACs) across the Agency and train Designated Federal Officers (DFOs) to ensure compliance with FACA legislation related to charters, membership, meeting protocols, and other functions.
- Develop long and short‑range plans, projects, budgets, and manpower needs for the Division and the committees it oversees.
- Manage the process by which the Science Advisory Board provides independent advice on scientific studies, research planning, and proposed criteria documents, standards, limitations, and/or regulations.
- Oversee the work of advisory committees and conduct briefings for Agency senior officials based on their advice.
- Represent the Agency on interagency committees, working groups, conferences, seminars, and meetings.
- Oversee development, assessment, and improvement of management control systems to safeguard programs and achieve results while adhering to the Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act.
- Ensure that procurements, contracts, grants, and assistance are managed in accordance with Agency and office policies, regulatory requirements, and budget constraints.
- Perform the full range of supervisory human resources functions for the Division and subordinate employees.
Requirements
- Completed a 1‑year SES probationary period if not previously completed.
- Submission of a financial disclosure statement (OGE‑278) before assuming the SES position, annually, and upon termination.
- Compliance with REAL ID requirements if using a state‑issued driver's license or ID during onboarding; otherwise acceptable alternative documents such as a passport will be provided.
- Background investigation required; must meet all pre‑employment security conditions before employment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must submit a resume and required documents.
