Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote. Contract Length: 8 months.
Position Overview
We are looking for an Enterprise Architect to work across Application Development, Service Delivery, and Infrastructure to identify, research, discuss, design, and implement key architecture standards.
Required Skills
- 7+ years of enterprise solutions experience, knowledge around data processing platforms, dictionary systems and applications, Multi-cloud experience.
- Experience designing integration strategies for disparate systems, applications, and data sources across the enterprise.
- Proven track record leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives, cloud migrations, or enterprise modernization programs from start to finish is preferred.
- Ability to make informed decisions under uncertainty, weigh multiple factors/constraints, and consider long-term implications of architectural choices.
- Knowledge of electronic data processing platforms and software.
- Experience in government or regulatory environments.
- Knowledge of database/data dictionary systems and applications.
- Knowledge of application portfolio management, software design patterns, application integration, legacy system modernization, and application lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of data modeling, data governance, master data management, data warehousing, analytics platforms, and data quality frameworks.
- Knowledge of infrastructure components, platforms, development tools, middleware, and technology standards (on-prem and cloud-based tech stacks).
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and informative reports/documentation on database systems, including creation/maintenance of data dictionary documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with various levels of personnel.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain essential records and files.
- Ability to learn how to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position.
Preferred, not required
- TOGAF Certification, Certified Enterprise Architect, or similar recognized credentials.
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certifications.
- Multi-cloud experience (particularly valuable).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software development lifecycle practices.
- Comfort presenting to executive leadership, board members, or external stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate complex technical strategies in business terms.
Duties
- The individual in this role will require a combination of deep technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills, requiring someone who can think strategically while understanding the practical implications of architectural decisions across the entire organization.
- Designing integration strategies for disparate systems, applications, and data sources across the enterprise.
- Establishing common interfaces, architecture principles, data standards, and best practices.
- Supporting senior management on complex technology initiatives and investment decisions.
- Creating an architecture review process to evaluate proposed solutions against standards and strategic objectives.
- Collaborating with the security team to ensure solutions meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
