Sales & Business Development - MedTech Director

The Sales & Business Development Director is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for driving strategic growth, expanding market presence, and building a high-performing sales organization within the North American health and wellness manufacturing sector. This executive will lead business development initiatives, oversee cross-functional commercial teams, and establish strong relationships with key MedTech OEMs and contract manufacturing partners. The role requires a balance of hands‑on revenue generation and organizational leadership, with a focus on scaling a disciplined, metrics‑driven commercial engine and delivering sustained, profitable growth.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing sales and business development team, fostering accountability, alignment, and measurable performance outcomes
  • Drive new business development efforts, actively engaging target customers and expanding relationships with MedTech OEMs and contract manufacturers
  • Oversee and refine the sales pipeline to ensure accuracy, visibility, and alignment with growth objectives
  • Establish and execute go‑to‑market strategies in collaboration with marketing and supplier partners
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across purchasing, engineering, and executive leadership within customer organizations
  • Manage forecasting, budgeting, and pricing strategies to optimize revenue growth, gross margins, and overall profitability
  • Oversee CRM utilization and pipeline management processes to ensure disciplined tracking and reporting of opportunities
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration between sales, engineering, and estimating teams to support new product development and program onboarding
  • Evaluate and enhance organizational structure, processes, and performance across commercial functions
  • Negotiate complex commercial agreements, ensuring favorable terms and long‑term partnership value
  • Identify and capitalize on market opportunities within the medical device and health and wellness sectors
  • Champion a results-driven, proactive culture with a strong focus on execution and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience selling to MedTech OEMs or contract manufacturers within the North American health and wellness industry
  • Demonstrated experience in technical sales within a custom manufacturing or product assembly environment
  • Proven leadership experience managing sales teams and cross-functional commercial groups, including sales, engineering, and estimating
  • Hands‑on experience with budgeting, forecasting, CRM pipeline management, and pricing/quoting processes
  • Experience within custom or contract manufacturing environments producing disposable medical devices or components
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience working within ISO-regulated, FDA, or cGMP manufacturing environments preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and leverage strategic supplier partnerships
  • Experience contributing to or leading go‑to‑market strategy development and execution preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to structure profitable agreements
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across technical and commercial audiences
