EY-Parthenon – Strategy and Execution – Software Strategy Group – Commercial - Senior Director
Within EY-Parthenon’s Strategy and Execution sub service line, our Software Strategy Group (SSG) provides investment and acquisition guidance, strategy/value creation, and transaction advisory services to companies and investors in the software economy. The SSG team members conduct research, synthesize and analyze data, build and test hypotheses, and deliver strategic advice to help clients make informed decisions.
Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Director, you will be the primary client contact on EY-Parthenon teams, translating client needs into project tasks and deliverables. You will manage day‑to‑day problem‑solving and team analytical activities, serve as a liaison between consulting team members, EY-Parthenon Partners, and clients, mentor and develop staff, and support business growth by working with Partners on new opportunities, pitch meetings, proposal creation, and the sale process. Assignments may include developing long‑term strategies, evaluating acquisitions, creating new marketing channel strategies, reducing operating costs, and evaluating new business ventures.

- Play a leadership role in helping grow the EY-Parthenon business.
- Define the objective and scope of strategy engagements and client deliverables in consultation with the Partner.
- Lead teams in the execution of both due diligence and value creation engagements.
- Possess a combination of client‑oriented consulting skills, product and software‑economy‑centric industry experience, and quantitative analysis and finance expertise required to execute sophisticated engagements.
- Drive business development activities in key sectors and internally across the broader organization.
- Manage, develop, and mentor junior team members at the Associate, Senior Associate, Consultant, and Director levels.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree with outstanding academic performance and 8 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience, preferably with technology‑oriented clients, or experience in a software or technology company in a product or R&D focused role.
- Experience managing M&A strategic diligence projects in complex environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams on complex assignments and develop individual team members.
- Strong quantitative skills to supervise data analysis, interpret output and generate insights.
- Ability to make detailed assessments of industry, products, markets, competitors and customers to identify risks and opportunities.
- Proficient in the English language, including the ability to listen, understand, read and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, in a professional environment.
- The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- An MBA, with 3 to 6 years of post‑graduate‑school experience in consulting, preferably with technology‑oriented clients, or experience in a software or technology company in a product or R&D focused role.
- Expertise in one or more software sectors (ERP, CRM, digital media, mobile, etc.)
- Knowledge of how to leverage AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

- Comprehensive compensation and benefits package with a base salary range of $250,000 to $290,000, medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Hybrid work model with most external, client‑serving roles working together in person 40‑60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
