North American raw material specialty chemical supplier is looking to fill a Director, Business Development position in the Los Angeles area. This is a strategic high-level sales development role focused on selling raw material specialty chemicals to the Personal Care markets in California (mainly Southern California). This is an excellent opportunity to join an entrepreneurial company with a broad product portfolio in a highly visible business development role. It’s also a solid income opportunity. Overnight travel is estimated to be <20%.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Strategically drive the sales of a broad range of raw material specialty chemicals to the Personal Care markets in California. The product lines are for the most part functional specialties, silicones, surfactants, emollients, antioxidants, waxes, oils, etc. Manage key accounts, identify and develop new business opportunities, monitor sales performance, analyze market trends, and collaborate cross functionally to align the sales strategy with operational execution. This is a senior role working in conjunction with the sales team and Leadership to penetrate key accounts, add new product lines, develop and execute sales strategy, etc. Travel overnight as needed.
Requirements
Requirements: 10+ years of sales experience, preferably in chemical distribution, personal care, or specialty ingredients. A bachelor’s degree is required but the concentration is open. Strategic thinker with experience developing and executing sales strategies. Willingness to travel overnight as needed.
