Location: Lane Transit District, Eugene, Oregon

Salary: $132,553 - $184,811

Lane Transit District is a public transportation agency serving Lane County, Oregon.

As Senior Director, you will report to the Deputy CEO and lead the delivery of daily transit service. Your responsibilities include overseeing operators, vehicles, and dispatch; managing public safety functions and emergency preparedness; directing the department’s budget and staffing, including hiring, evaluation, and discipline; ensuring cost‑effective operations; and handling labor relations, including collective bargaining and negotiations across multiple bargaining groups.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily transit services across the agency network.
• Oversee operators, vehicles, and dispatch operations.
• Manage public safety functions and emergency preparedness.
• Direct the department’s budget and staff, including hiring, evaluation, and discipline.
• Ensure cost‑effective day‑to‑day operations.
• Handle labor relations, including administration of collective bargaining agreements and negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in planning, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of transit operations experience (or three (3) years of transit planning plus three (3) years of transit operations).
• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience and budget‑development experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience are acceptable. Education and coursework may substitute for years of experience.
