Senior Manager Major Gifts & Planned Giving

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager Major Gifts & Planned Giving will develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and planned gifts. This role will also supervise a team that manages individual, corporate, and foundation giving activities.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors.
  • Work with the Development Team, Development Committee, and Board of Directors to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective donors.
  • Manage the Leffingwell Society (leadership giving membership program).
  • Manage the Nathan Frank Society (planned giving program).
  • Collaborate with Events Manager and Senior Manager Sponsorship & Business Development to plan and execute the Hat Luncheon (annual signature fundraising event).
  • Track and report relationship-management activity using Raiser’s Edge.
  • Lead and manage development professionals.
  • Manage projections and budget related to appropriate programs.
  • Meet with current and prospective donors in various locations in Forest Park, off site, and at private residences.
  • Attend Development and organization events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree or higher. Equivalent job experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of five to seven years of related experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Proven success in major gift and planned giving fundraising.
  • Understanding of tax and estate planning, including knowledge of planned giving vehicles.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook & Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with fundraising platforms/programs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with individuals from varying backgrounds.

LICENSE(S)/CERTIFICATION(S) REQUIRED

Valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS/WORK CONDITIONS

  • Constantly operates computers and other office equipment.
  • Frequently works in an indoor office environment.
  • Occasionally required to traverse the park over uneven terrain during events.
  • Occasionally lifts and moves materials up to 40 pounds.
