With deep expertise across food, beverage, and nutrition, our teams develop high-quality taste solutions that inspire innovation and elevate everyday experiences.# Your Role in Synergy's SuccessAs a senior member of Synergy’s Core Commercial Team, the Sales Director will set commercial direction, align stakeholders, and translate strategy into measurable plans and priorities for both the human and animal nutrition categories. This leader will work cross functionally to remove barriers, elevate customer and channel experience, and advance strategic initiatives from concept through launch. Approximately 40% travel is required to engage key customers and partners, strengthen distributor relationships, and expand Synergy’s presence in the market. For those weeks not traveling or with customers, we expect that this role is in the office 3 days per week with expansion to 4 days in Q4 2026# How You Will Contribute**Roles and Responsibilities*** Define and execute the commercial strategy for Synergy’s entry and expansion in Pet Food & Animal Nutrition, informed by customer needs, market dynamics, and competitive insights.* Lead the commercial workstream for integrating new capabilities into Synergy’s business, partnering with Operations to establish processes, service levels, and scalable ways of working.* Own the strategic partnership with a new Synergy distributor, including joint business planning, performance management, and alignment on category growth priorities within performance nutrition.### Team Leadership & Development* Manage and mentor two Account Executives to ensure performance, capability growth, and results.* Build and scale a four‐person Inside Corporate Account Team within 12 months, including hiring, onboarding, and development.* Foster a culture of continuous learning and commercial excellence, coaching the team in strategic account leadership, value articulation, and disciplined execution.* Translate commercial strategy into account, channel, and category plans, aligning priorities, resources, and milestones with the field and inside teams.* Establish an operating cadence and performance dashboard (e.g., revenue, margin, mix, service, and forecast accuracy); ensure disciplined use of CRM and consistent forecasting practices.* Provide pricing and margin governance across accounts and channels, including price actions, value-based positioning, and commercial terms to support profitable growth.* Partner with R&D, Marketing, and Product Management to prioritize the innovation roadmap, translate customer and market insights into briefs, and coordinate commercialization plans.* Work with Marketing to strengthen Synergy’s market presence through targeted trade shows, customer events, and education/innovation programs.* Lead monthly/quarterly business reviews and deliver executive-ready insights on performance, risks, and opportunities to support timely decision-making.* Develop region‐ and SKU‐level forecasts informed by market trends, customer demand, and seasonality to support supply planning and service excellence.### Operational Excellence* Manage commercial budgets (including T&E) in alignment with company expectations and with a focus on ROI and customer/partner impact.* Drive end‐to‐end alignment across functions (Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, R&D, Marketing) to ensure reliable execution, strong customer experience, and scalable growth.**Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree required (Science or Business preferred)* 10+ years of experience in industrial flavors, extracts, or functional ingredients with demonstrated commercial leadership (e.g., channels, key accounts, portfolio, or category management).* Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing commercial teams and/or channel partners.* Proven track record of delivering profitable growth through disciplined commercial strategy, pricing/terms management, and strong cross-functional execution.* Experience in B2B environments with strong commercial operations discipline (CRM, forecasting, KPI management, and process adherence).* Exceptional leadership skills with demonstrated ability to motivate and hold teams accountable.* Strong coaching capability and commitment to building commercial talent.* Experience building commercial plans, developing forecasts, and guiding pricing/terms decisions with strong analytical rigor and governance.* Ability to collaborate across R&D, Marketing, Product Management, and other internal partners.* Strong communication, presentation, and customer relationship management skills.* High integrity, strong organizational skills, and a results‐driven mindset.### ### Personal Characteristics* Strong strategic thinker with the ability to view the business holistically.* Exceptional team leadership: able to set clear goals, develop talent, and drive accountability.* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with influence at all organizational levels.* Creative problem‐solver with sound judgment and rapid decision‐making ability.* Highly organized with excellent follow‐through and attention to detail.* High integrity, dependability, and a strong sense of urgency.Salary Range: 183,000.00 to 220,000.00The actual compensation that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors.
