Northwest Healthcare, the largest hospital system in Southern Arizona, is seeking a BE/BC Family Medicine Program Director to lead our ACGME‑accredited Family Medicine Residency Program in Tucson, Arizona.
Responsibilities
- Approximately 50% of time dedicated to administration, 50% to clinical duties.
- Oversee a residency cohort of 27 residents, adding around 9 new residents each year.
- Program launch scheduled for second class starting July 2026.
- Must have experience in academic medicine as core faculty or program director.
- Ensure quality of didactic and clinical education is maintained.
- Establish strategic direction, standards, quality, and reputation of the residency program.
- Manage residency program practice, overall operations, and resident oversight.
- Recruit, interview, and select residents; welcome six residents annually.
- Recruit and oversee faculty and clinical rotations.
- Maintain ongoing clinical activity in Family Medicine in accordance with ACGME guidelines.
- Teach residents through clinical and didactic work.
Requirements
- Board certified in Family Medicine.
- Clinically practicing physician.
- Documented educational and/or administrative experience required.
- Experience in graduate medical education required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively deal with a broad range of people and personalities.
