At Associated Bank, the Business Banking Portfolio Manager plays a key role in underwriting, credit monitoring, and managing a dynamic Business Banking portfolio. You'll drive sound credit decisions, strengthen client relationships, and support portfolio growth while ensuring quality and compliance. This role offers the opportunity to expand your impact, collaborate cross-functionally, and mentor junior team members.
Key Accountabilities
Manage the end-to-end renewal process, ensuring timely and accurate credit presentations and approvals.
Analyze financial statements and loan requests to assess creditworthiness and recommend appropriate structures.
Oversee annual reviews and ongoing portfolio monitoring to maintain strong credit quality.
Ensure compliance with Associated Banc-Corp credit policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Partner with Relationship Managers, Sales and Support Specialists, and Credit teams to deliver seamless client service.
Monitor repayment activity and proactively address risk, including past due accounts.
Present credit recommendations through the Loan Approval Process and contribute to informed lending decisions.
Support team growth by mentoring junior portfolio managers and participating in special projects.
Education & Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of commercial, corporate, or specialized banking and/or credit approval experience
- 2+ years handling complex credit transactions
Preferred
- Experience mentoring or training junior team members
- Strong presentation skills and participation in formal loan approval processes

The pay range represents anticipated base pay for this role. Actual pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, work location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role.
$85,330.00 - $146,280.00 per year
