- Paul Taylor Academy seeks a strong and energetic educational leader to begin July 1, 2026. The deadline for first‑round application submissions is April 28, 2026, at 4:00 PM (MST).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current resident of the Las Cruces area or willing to relocate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7 years teaching experience in elementary and/or middle school.
- 5 years of administrative experience, including building a school community with staff and families.
- 5 years of administrative experience, including ordering materials and supplies.
Job Description
Duties include:
- Ensuring effective, school‑wide implementation of the material terms of the school's charter contract, including Project‑Based Learning and Spanish Language Acquisition.
- Hiring and managing faculty and staff, which includes approximately 35 staff members, including 17 teachers, the Assistant Director, the Food Services Manager, several Educational Assistants, secretarial staff, and others.
- Implementing and conducting the Educator Effectiveness System to support teacher growth and development, including completing classroom walkthroughs, providing follow‐up and feedback on teacher performance, and submitting comprehensive documentation on NM Professional Responsibilities, Observation, and Feedback Domains.
- Building and maintaining a positive and inclusive school culture and community.
- Managing the school's budget.
- Overseeing and coordinating with the school's Business Manager.
- Conducting state reporting, which includes, but is not limited to, federal program annual reports, the Safe Schools Plan, annual Performance Framework metrics, and 40th/80th/120th day review and certification.
- Overseeing and being an active participant in several school committees.
- Planning and implementing an effective and meaningful professional development program for certified staff.
- Managing student, staff, and other state‑required records.
- Partnering with and reporting to the school's Governance Council (i.e., School Board).
- Overseeing the maintenance of school facilities.
- Effectively implementing school policies.
